A traffic stop was conducted by an officer from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office around 1:15 early Friday morning on Route 281 near McLean Road in Cortlandville.
The Sheriff’s Office says the operator of the vehicle, 30 year old Jacob A. Ruddy of Truxton, failed to stop at a steady red signal. A continued investigation found Ruddy to be driving while intoxicated.
Officers arrested and charged Ruddy with DWI, Aggravated DWI, both Misdemeanors, Failure to Stop at Steady Red Signal, and Drivers View Obstruction, both Violations. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later released with an appearance ticket. Ruddy is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
