Truxton Fire Department Replaces 1975 Fire Engine

The Truxton Fire Department has revealed their newest addition to their firefighting fleet. The department has recently acquired a 2022 Ford F-550 truck.



The new truck features a 1,250 gpm pump, 300 gallon water tank, 25 gallon foam tank with three SCBA seats. The F-550 also has 4-wheel drive, a shorter wheelbase, and a significant amount of 4” LDH.

Truxton was able to acquire the new truck after the department applied for a sizable grant from FEMA back in 2021 to upgrade an aging apparatus from 1975. After working the FEMA requirements, money management the department was able to afford the new truck. The grant funding also helped save taxpayers money as there was no need for additional borrowing.

The companies and organizations that helped make this a reality for the Truxton Fire Department include: FEMA, Toyne, J.P.B. Fire Service, McKee Equipment, Tenkate Grant Services, truck committee members, donors to the fire department, The Truxton Fire District, and taxpayers in Truxton.
