The City of Cortland Youth Bureau & Cortland Fire Department are reminding residents the annual Trunk-or-Treat will be held this Saturday, October 25th from 2pm to 4pm on Main Street in the City of Cortland. A rain date of Sunday, October 26th at the same time will take place in the event of inclement weather Saturday. This year, the Youth Bureau says over 40 businesses and organizations are participating by handing out treats.
Local Businesses or organizations who sign up for the event have the opportunity to decorate their trunks with family-fun themes and hand out candy. Heather Johnson, Assistant Director for the City of Cortland Youth Bureau, added there is also a friendly competition on who has the best decorated trunk with the winner having bragging rights and a trophy presented.
New for this year’s event is the location. The Trunk or Treating will take place on Main Street this year in addition to the brand now Showmobile parked in front of the Cortland Area Chamber of Commerce. Performances will also be done by Studio Z School of Dance and Boom Dance Complex.
