Yesterday, February 28th, around 10:40 in the morning a call came in of a 12 wheeler truck rolling over on State Route 41 near Willawanna Ave.
The operator of the truck was trapped inside the vehicle with injuries. Cincinnatus Fire along with Marathon Ambulance responded to the scene. The seriousness of the accident led to Route 41 being closed for over 6 hours.
Additional assistance from Willet and McGraw Fire Department arrived at the scene to assist with the road closure and extraction of the driver. The driver, who was not identified, was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
Cortland Soil and Water, and the New York Department of Environmental Conservation arrived for a spill response from the tank portion of the truck spilling into the ditch alongside the road.
