Truck Lands on its Side on Salt Road in Groton – No Injuries Reported

New York State Police say they responded to an accident on Salt Road in the Town of Groton on Tuesday, August 20th around 1:30 in the afternoon. Upon arrival, Troopers found a commercial box truck in a patch of peas laying on its side.

An investigation into the cause of the crash found the driver of the commercial truck, 33 year old Jimmy F. Jacob of Angleton Texas, was traveling eastbound on Salt Road when he for some reason exited the roadway. Jacob then crashed into a ditch which then led to the truck landing on its side on a pea field adjacent to the ditch. Troopers say a patch of the pea field was destroyed as a result of the crash.

No injuries were reported by State Police.
