Troopers Make Arrest of Binghamton Man Wanted Following Shoplifting Incident at Walmart

State Police say they have apprehended 28 year old Felipe Isam Mercedes of Binghamton after he was taken into custody by Endicott Police from an outstanding warrant by State Police.

Back on July 18th, State Police say Troopers were dispatched to Walmart by Cortland County 9-1-1 for a report of a male who ran out of the store, got into a vehicle, and fled northbound on Route 13. State Police also learned Walmart’s asset protection originally stopped him before he fled the store.

An investigation by State Police was able to identify the suspect as Mercedes. He was also found to have been previously trespassed from the store for stealing. An arrest warrant was then issued.

Mercedes was arrested early Friday morning, September 12th for his outstanding warrant of Burglary in the 3rd, a Felony due to him being previously trespassed. He was taken to the State Police Barracks in Homer after being turned over by Endicott Police for processing. He was later sent to the Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
