During the July 4th STOP-DWI enforcement campaign, State Police issued nearly 13,000 tickets statewide.
The campaign began June 30th and ended July 5th. During this time State Police utilized sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and ticketed distracted drivers who used electronic devices. Additionally, troopers arrested 193 people for DWI and investigated over 900 crashes, five of which were fatal.
During last year’s July 4th campaign, State Police issued over 12,000 tickets and arrested 197 people for DWI.
