Troopers Arrest Homer Man For Felony DWI After Incident at Suit-Kote
State Police say Troopers responded to Suit-Kote on Lorings Crossing Road in the Town of Homer around 8 in the morning on Tuesday, June 17th. State Police say an ex-employee of Suit-Kote was causing unspecified issues in the parking lot and was also believed to be under the influence.
After arriving on scene, Troopers found 49 year old John E. Cash of Homer, sitting in the driver’s seat of a pick-up truck; it was determined Cash had driven himself to the facility. After speaking with Cash, Troopers say they observed signs of impairment and asked Cash to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. The tests confirmed his impairment.
Cash was arrested and charged with Felony Driving While Impaired. The charge is upgraded to a felony due to a past conviction within 10 years. He was taken to the State Police Barracks in Homer where he was additionally evaluated by a NYS Police Drug Recognition Expert. He was processed and then transported to the Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment and was later released.
