Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to Walmart on Bennie Road twice last Friday for a reported trespass and then a larceny complaint.
Around 5:45 pm Friday evening, officers responded to the store for a trespassing complaint called in of 38 year old Ashley L. Jenkins of Cortland. The investigation found Jenkins was inside the store after previously being banned from Walmart back in November 2022. She left Walmart before officers arrived on scene.
Jenkins, though, later turned herself into police hours later at the Sheriff’s Office. Officers charged her with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd, a Misdemeanor and later released her with an appearance ticket. She is due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
Hours later, officers responded again to Walmart, this time for a larceny complaint called in. An investigation by officers found 50 year old Trixie L. Corey of Richford, had stolen merchandise from the store.
She was charged with Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor. Corey was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on an appearance ticket. She is due back in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
