An evening of extraordinary music will be happening at the Annual Festival of Music on Saturday, December 10 beginning at 6:30 with the doors opening at 6:00. The Festival of Music will be held at the United Methodist Church in McGraw. A free-will offering will be taken.
The Festival will include several local musically talented people, some who have been involved in this event over the years. A variety of styles of music will entertain you during the evening, including the McGraw High School Chorus, directed by Michael Brownell and the Jazz Ensemble, directed by Brian Shelly. Mr. William Tei, pianist and Mr. Lynn Koch, organist will fill the church with beautiful instrumental music. Also, presenting their musical talents will be Brooke Madigan, John Aukema, Jack Carr, John Storie and Jim Underwood, Shannon Ryan, and the Gospel Way.
New talent this year will be David and Jean Hamilton, composers and Praise Worship leaders at the Homer United Methodist Church, Brian Hill, who sings with the Syracuse Pops and with the local Countryside Choir. Ms. Shirley Stevens, will lend a Bluegrass flavor to the evening. She is the lead singer with the group, Diamond Someday Bluegrass Band, which sings yearly at the Homer on the Green summer musical events, and with other groups.
We are privileged to have with us this year the renowned vocalist, Camille Sims, who is the current Miss New York and the second runner up to Miss America. Camille was a Preliminary Talent Winner for her Jazz Vocal, “Sway,” which she will sing at the Festival, and won the Joan Jones Overall Interview Award at the Miss New York 2016 State Pageant.
The Festival of Music promises to be an evening of wonderful musical talent by some very talented people. The evening will end with Mr. Don Davis singing “O Holy Night” and the entertainers of the evening and anyone who wishes to join in singing the Hallelujah Chorus.
