On Saturday morning (May 28) the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Cortlandville for multiple traffic violations.
While investigating officers found the driver 27 year old Kyle J. Dayton and passenger 39 year old Patrick M. Duffy was found to be in possession of 87 glassine envelopes of heroin, meth, buprenorphine, packaging materials, scales, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Both men were arrested and arraigned. During arraignment Dayton was remanded to the Cortland County Jail with bail and is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court today. Duffy was released on his own recognizance due to New York State bail reform and is also scheduled to appear on the same day at Dayton.
Kyle J. Dayton was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (both Felonies), as well as numerous misdemeanors, and infractions.
Patrick M. Duffy was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (both felonies) and multiple misdemeanors.
