Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Two – Police Find Loaded Gun and Drugs

Around 7 in the evening back on Friday, June 14th, a traffic stop was conducted by an officer with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on Blodgett Mills Road in Cortlandville for both a vehicle and traffic violation.

During the traffic stop investigation, the Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the vehicle, identified as 34 year old Casey L. Chorley of Freetown and the passenger, 25 year old Jastinee M. Catalano of Cortland, was in possession of a loaded firearm. The Sheriff’s Office says both individuals are prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Further investigation found Chorley to also be in possession of illegal narcotics. Chorley was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th, Prohibitions on the use and Possession of Firearms, and Sidewings / Side windows non-transparent.

Catalano was also arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th, and Prohibitions on the use and Possession of Firearms. Both were taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and both are due to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on Monday.
