Traffic Signals to Arrive For Groton Ave. Intersections by January – Work Wrapping Up For Winter Months

Work on Groton Ave. is nearing completion for the 2024 construction season, Crown City Rising reports. Work will finish today, November 22nd, on topsoil placement. With the completion of adding topsoil, heavy equipment will no longer be needed and will be removed.

Weather permitting, crews will finish the remaining sidewalks along Groton Ave. Work will require minimal equipment during the process.

“Over the winter, crews will monitor the condition of the road and adjacent properties. Please note that standing water near curbs and catch basins is expected since the top course of asphalt has not yet been applied. This will be addressed during final paving in the spring.”

Crown City Rising said in an update.

For when the new traffic lights will be installed, Crown City Rising says the signals are expected to arrive sometime in January with installation being done weather permitting. The intersections of Groton and Graham and Groton, Homer, and Pleasant will remain all-way stops until the lights are activated.

Remaining work should begin in April 2025 of final top course asphalt paving, signage installation, final striping, colored crosswalks, and full restoration. Updates can be found at CrownCityRising.com.
