Toys For Tots Secures Temporary Warehouse Space

Clarification: Toys For Tots says announced they have secured temporary location, but are still in need of a permanent location within the City of Cortland.

Toys For Tots of Cortland County is in need of a new warehouse space. The news comes after the organization was informed late last week they need to move out of their current space at the Riverside Plaza by the end of day Tuesday, July 8th. Toys For Tots Coordinator Jess Forbes, told X101 News at this time, they do not have a space to move to.

If a new warehouse space, preferably between 2,000 and 3,000 square feet in the City of Cortland, cannot be found, they will not be able to hold Toys For Tots. The organization is seeking a space that can be donated for them to use. Forbes added she hopes if a space is available, it not be at an intersection where it would be difficult to get in and out and may cause accidents.

Volunteers will also be needed to help the move out of the current space. If you’re interested in volunteering to help move, please meet at the warehouse at the Riverside Plaza at 9am Tuesday morning. Anyone who has warehouse space that can be donated for Toys For Tots to use is asked to contact Jess Forbes via email or phone, jessicaforbes77@gmail.com or 607-423-7331.

The reasoning for Toys For Tots leaving their current space is due to a new tenant lined up for the space. The identity of the tenant has not been disclosed.
