Town of Summerhill Man Arrested After Stalking Victim and Fleeing From Police

Officers from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office responded to Summerhill for a reported domestic incident just before 10pm on Wednesday, March 20th.

An investigation and interview with the victim in the case found the suspect, 37 year old Justin Kellogg of the Town of Summerhill, had followed the victim’s vehicle from a gas station in Moravia to the Town of Summerhill. During the incident the victim continued on saying Kellogg had also pulled his car in front of the victims car several times, almost causing an accident. The victim, an unidentified woman, also had two children in the vehicle during the incident.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Kellogg’s arrest for Stalking in the 4th and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The warrant was issued as Kellogg fled the scene before officers arrived.

Two days later on March 22nd, a traffic stop was conducted by officers on a vehicle that Kellogg was believed to be in. Once the vehicle stopped for officers, Kellogg got out of the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. He was eventually located and arrested.

He was taken to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office where he was arraigned via the Centralized Arraignment Process and then released on his own recognizance. Kellogg is due in Summerhill Town Court at a later date.
