Town of Homer Annexes Wolf Road Properties
The Town of Homer annexed 1130 Wolf Road, 1142 Wolf Road and 1148 Wolf Road from the Village of Homer Wednesday night at the Homer town Board meeting Wednesday evening.
All of the property owners signed a petition to be annexed, stating they could not connect to village utilities, the other Wolf Road properties are in the town, and the houses are rural in nature, which aligns with the planning properties of the town.
“The village has reviewed this,” Mayor Pat Clune said. “We have no issues, and are willing to cede the properties.”
“It’s really a very simple process,” Town Supervisor Michael Park said. “The village is already part of the town. It is just the difference that they’re not paying the village taxes. We’ve done this in the past… It goes on all the time.”
Also at the meeting, a ban on overnight parking at the Homer Town Hall lot was unanimously passed. It will be in effect from Nov. 1 to April 1. When the Homer Town Hall construction begins, there needs to be room for construction vehicles and containers, he said.
