State Police have charged a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy with choking a woman during a domestic dispute.
On Monday, State Police arrested 30 year old Deputy Jeremy Vann of Enfield.
Police say during the overnight hours from Sunday to Monday Vann was involved in a fight with a 22 year old woman at a home in Enfield.
Police did not say what happened, but they charged Vann with felony counts of robbery, tampering with physical evidence, and criminal mischief. Vann was also charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, unlawful imprisonment, and assault.
Vann was arraigned in the Town of Enfield Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail/$50,000 bond.
He was suspended on Monday night with pay pending the investigation, according to Sheriff Ken Lansing.
State Police were assisted by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation.
