Tompkins County Man Arrested by State Police for Fraud: State Police Investigating Additional Incidents

On Wednesday, February 8th, the New York State Police and Tompkins Sheriff’s Office made an arrest of a Tompkins County man after an investigation which began in August of 2022.




Police arrested 44 year old Orion C. Parker Megivern of Tompkins County after the investigation found Parker Megivern entered into agreements with multiple customers for HVAC installations. He collected down payments from the customers, but never started the work or only completed a minimal amount of the work without finishing what was contracted.

The investigation conducted looked into incidents dating back to September 2019 with 13 separate complaints made.

Parker Megivern was charged with Grand Larceny in the 2nd, Scheme to Defraud in the 1st, both Felonies. He was arraigned at the Tompkins County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and later released pending further proceedings.

State Police is asking if anyone has had similar incidents with Parker Megivern to contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 607-347-4463 or the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 607-257-1345 and follow prompts to Criminal Investigations extension.
