Tompkins County hits 200 active cases for first time

COVID-19 continues to spread in communities across the state.

Yesterday, Tompkins County hit 200 active cases for the first time since the pandemic began.

TC Health officials reported 34 new cases for a total of 219 active cases.

More than 2,000 are active in Onondaga County, which reported 214 new cases, two new deaths and over 150 current hospitalizations.

Cortland County added 12 new cases for a total of 156 active.

Eight people remain in the hospital and more than 1000 are being monitored.

Statewide, the positivity rate is 4.96%, including a 6.27% rate inside all focus zone areas and 4.46 elsewhere.
