Tompkins County Employee-Sponsored Blood Drive Happening on September 14th
The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport, in collaboration with the Departments of Emergency Response and Tompkins County Whole Health, will host a community blood drive on Saturday, September 14th.
The event will run from 10am until 2pm at the Whole Health building at 55 Brown Road. This blood drive, co-hosted by the American Red Cross, will also take place during the 2024 Airport Day and Preparedness Expo.
“Tompkins County, as an organization, is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations,” said Geoff Dunn, Community Preparedness Coordinator for the Department of Emergency Response. “This blood drive is our way of giving staff, colleagues and neighbors an opportunity to help save lives.”
The Red Cross says donors of all blood types are needed, but their focus lies on those with type O-, A-, and B- blood. Donate before September 15th and you will receive an exclusive Red Cross raglan shirt while supplies last.
