Tompkins Cortland Community Colleges 2024-2025 Operating Budget Approved by County – Enrollment Continues to Increase

The 2024-2025 Tompkins Cortland Community College’s operating budget has been approved by Legislators. The approval took place after a public hearing, and presentation by the school during the monthly Legislative meeting on Thursday.

The operating budget for TC3 approved is in the amount of $35,185,275. The county has been providing a Community Contribution to the school, along with Tompkins County since 1966. TC3 President Dr. Amy Kremenek.

Overall, the news was good from Dr. Kremenek. She noted fall 2024 enrollment is up about 16% for the schools continuing student population; these are students who are returning to the school. Applications for the 2024-2025 applications were on-par with the previous year. Dr. Kremenek noted the school’s continuation in investing in enrollment services and marketing to promote future student growth.

TC3 has recently announced new microcredentials for the upcoming school year. Those include Direct Support Provider I and II, Direct Support Provider III, a new Geographic Information Systems Microcredential, and AS transfer program in Health Sciences.

The county will contribute $4,882,882 for the 2024-2025 budget; the county will pay the amount after January 1st, 2025. 30% of the TC3’s revenue comes from both Cortland and Tompkins Counties contributions to the school. 28% comes from state aid, 37% from student revenues, and the remaining 5% from other sources and use of fund balance.
