Tompkins Community Bank in Ithaca has celebrated a transition of new leadership by making a special donation.
With the takeover of Johanna Anderson from Greg Hartz as the Central New York president of Tompkins Community Bank due to Hartz’s retirement, a donation was made by the institution to the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County.
“Johanna has demonstrated a passion for driving growth and fostering community development,” said Hartz. “I’ve seen firsthand the capability that she brings to the table throughout her last three years of service to our board. With her business acumen and dedication to community betterment, I cannot imagine a better leader to guide Tompkins into the future. I look forward to working on the Tompkins Central New York board to support her leadership and success.”
The private foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in the local community. With Anderson’s appointment, three out of Tompkins’ four market president positions are now held by women.
The new appointment also marks Hartz’s transition to retirement following a 20-year career of leadership.
