There are still seven months left before the end of the term.
What specific district he would be leaving behind is still up in the air, with the congressional map in New York currently being drawn by a “special master” appointed by the state’s highest court.
He did represent NY’s 23rd Congressional District, which covered Tompkins County and the southern tier over to the lower west of the state.
Reed will be joining the Prime Policy Group, a lobbying firm.
