Toddler Airlifted By LifeNet After Ingesting Gasoline in Freetown – Expected to Survive
A toddler was airlifted by LifeNet to a pediatric hospital after ingesting gasoline, the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) said in a release. The call came in around 11 in the morning on Friday, July 26th in the Town of Freetown. Members of MAVAC, the Marathon Fire Department, and New York State Police responded.
MAVAC says their Paramedics Kally Haskell, Karen Brenchley, and EMT John Tillotson, responded to the address and immediately began to render care to the toddler. Due to the age of the toddler, severity of ingesting gasoline and the toddler being unconscious at the time, LifeNet was requested to transport the toddler.
A landing zone was set up by the Marathon Fire Department in a nearby field and the toddler was flown to a pediatric hospital. The toddler is expected to survive, State Police told X101 News.
MAVAC noted off-duty members also responded to assist.
