TLC Cortland division manager Trish Hansen spoke with WXHC during this year’s 46th National EMS Week (May 17-23), celebrating EMS practitioners and the important work they do in American communities.
At the helm of TLC operations in Cortland, Hansen oversees the majority of ambulatory services in the county but also thanked several other area providers like the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC), Cincinnatus Volunteer Ambulance Squad and Dryden Ambulance.
The theme for this year’s commemoration week is “EMS Strong; Ready today, preparing for tomorrow” – a fitting message given the current pandemic and its likely effects on society moving forward.
Hansen says local EMS workers are continuing to meet that challenge head-on.
“We are so fortunate to have such dedicated people,” Hansen said. “They’re working really hard to keep the community safe and to keep each other safe.”
