Tioughnioga Peaks Just Below Flood Stage, Several Power Outages

The Tioughnioga River at the Port Watson Street Bridge was just inches under minor flood stage early Tuesday and receding. The National Weather Service had warned of possible minor flooding in the Kellogg Road area.



Widely scattered NYSEG outages left several dozen customers without power following the high winds and thunderstorms that rolled through Cortland late Monday night.

Outages reported on Pine Hill Road in Freetown and Marathon, Johnson Road in Willet. In Virgil were near Alberts and Budzinski roads and on West River Road.

Repair crews were also needed in Taylor, Pitcher, Lapeer and more to the south and east of Cortland County.

National Grid reported a few customers without power in Lincklaen.

Many of these outages have had service restored or are expected back in service soon.
