Times and Locations of Tomorrow’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies

Tomorrow, September 11th, local municipalities in Cortland County will host their annual 9/11 Ceremonies with the Village of McGraw hosting their first-ever ceremony.

The City of Cortland will host theirs from 8:30 in the morning until 9:30 at the 9/11 Memorial at Courthouse Park in Downtown Cortland.

For the Village of Homer, the ceremony will take place at 6pm at the memorial next to the Homer Fire Department. The mast of ceremony this year will be Gary McEuen, a past Fire Chief for the Homer Fire Department and US Air Force Veteran. Guest speaker will be the Village of Homer Deputy Mayor, Pat Clune, retired Lt Colonel US Army and Veteran of the War on Terror.

The Village of McGraw will host their first-ever ceremony at 6:30pm at the Village Green in McGraw. Guest speakers for the ceremony will include Mayor Nauseef, James Caufied, retiree from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and longtime Chief of Police for the Village of McGraw. He also served in Vietnam.

Both the Villages of Homer and McGraw will dedicate and pay tribute to Retired New York State Trooper Steven Bilodeau, who was a longtime Cortland County resident. Trooper Bilodeau passed away in August of this year from complications from an illness stemming from his service at the World Trade Center following the September 11th attacks.
