Three juveniles under the age of 17 were arrested by Ithaca Police today (December 10) for their involvement in a gang assault Friday night (December 7) near Ithaca Commons.
One male victim is still in critical condition after being immediately airlifted to a nearby trauma center.
Police say they responded to a call on the 100 block of North Cayuga Street just past 6:30 p.m., where they located the male victim bleeding profusely from significant lacerations to his face and back.
Officers then secured the area and processed the scene for additional evidence.
Investigators then began interviewing people associated with the incident, including several witnesses.
All three minors arrested for the crime were arraigned in Ithaca City Court on charges of Gang Assault in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, and Assault in the First Degree, a Class B Felony.
Two of the three subjects were sent to a Juvenile Detention Facility. The third was sent to a Specialized Secure Detention Facility.
All three subjects are due back in Ithaca City Court today.
