Three Fire Departments Knockout Garage Fire in McGraw

Around 8:45 pm on Thursday, December 15th, a call came in of a garage fire at a residence on Clinton Street in the Village of McGraw. The garage was not attached to the residential building. McGraw, Cortlandville, and the City of Cortland Fire Department responded to the scene.


First arriving units confirmed a working garage fire. Firefighters went to work quickly and were able to knock on the fire, Deputy Chief of the McGraw Fire Department, Andrew Harvey said in a release. The bulk of the fire was knocked out within about 20 minutes of the initial time of call.

No injuries were reported during the fire and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the McGraw Fire Department and State Fire. All units were cleared from the scene by 11pm.
