Three Arrested After Stealing Over $2,000 in Merchandise From Marshalls

Two people are facing numerous charges after stealing from Marshalls in Cortlandville. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says an officer saw 30 year old Linsey R. Cleland of Freeville, 33 year old David W. Towers of Cortlandville, and 36 year old Shane M. Eggleston of Cortland, had taken merchandise from Marshalls without paying for it.

The Sheriff’s Office says all three suspects got into the same vehicle with the stolen merchandise and fled from the scene. However, officers were able to stop the vehicle a short time later. Officers learned during their investigation the value of the items stolen exceeded $2,000.

All three, Cleland, Towers, and Eggleston, were arrested and each charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th, a Felony, and Conspiracy in the 5th, a Misdemeanor. They were taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later released on appearance tickets. All three are due in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
