John Harrison: [00:00:00] Good morning everybody, welcome back to another editon of Peak at the Peak what may be our last one for this season as we’re heading into day 112 of the ski season and on the phone with me as always, Jon Spaulding up at Greek Peak Mountain resort. Jon, thanks so much for joining for, such a momentous day getting this far into the ski season.

Jon Spaulding: As you mentioned, John, day number 112 I think we were at 107 last year. Yeah, we had to close yesterday because of, the rain, but it’s getting cold again for this weekend. We’re gonna be open today, Saturday and Sunday. Check out the hours on that be. I, and I would say get your final laps in this weekend because I know we plan to close Monday through Friday next week.

So we can prepare for the big pond skim celebration on Saturday, April 4th. Yeah, winding down the season, but, still a great weekend, with the cold temperatures to get some final laps in.

John Harrison: Yeah, definitely. Folks, make sure you get those final laps in and, of course mentioned, gonna be closing down a setup from that pond scheme.

You want to, get, get some more details on that pond scheme. People are really excited for it. It’s always such a [00:01:00] fun event. I know you guys do, hot dogs and hot tubs up on the, on the deck and, people coming down the mountain trying to clear over that pond. So, why don’t we, give, give people a little bit, a little bit more to chew on, I guess.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, sure, sure thing. So pond, skim is definitely the year end celebration. We, it’s a tradition at Greek Peak. We will be registering the first, the first 100 people that sign up, to do the actual skimming across the 30 foot pond. We, we only do a hundred participants. So I know that that’ll fill up quickly.

Registration for that starts on Monday the 30th, so please go to greekpeak.net to look for that. But the event itself is, it’s just a, it’s just a party. You know, as you mentioned, we’ve got a, we’ll have a DJ on the deck from 11:00 to 3:00 that day. We’ll have hot tubs on the deck that day. We’ll have a hot dog eating contest at two o’clock that day.

But the, the big, draw is definitely watching the, the hundred participants skim across the pond that starts right at noon. Just a just a great way to, close out the season. We’re, one of our favorite events to put [00:02:00] on here at Greek Peak, so we’re really looking forward to it.

John Harrison: Yeah, folks, make sure you, get on down to the pond. Skim up at, up at Greek Peak. Always a great time. I’m, I’m, I’m definitely looking forward to getting to soak ’em one of the tubs for, for a bit.

Jon Spaulding: There you go.

John Harrison: Yeah, so, so after the, the pond skim, well really a day after the Pond Skim, one of the best, brunch, brunch meals you can get around here, and that’s Easter brunch up at the lookout.

You told me before we hopped on this call so I could, get a little bit of a, an advance notice, but I want to give the same notice to our listeners. It’s filling up quick. People gotta get those reservations in now. Right ?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, it’s, it’s definitely filling up quickly. Easter brunch at the lookout, one of our, most popular events up there.

It’s gonna be, obviously a great way to cap off the whole Easter weekend. ’cause you have pond skim on Saturday, and then you get Easter Sunday. There will be an Easter egg hunt up there for the kids and all the, anyone who, it has reservations, up at the lookout, so I really encourage everybody, if you, if you were shuffling your, your feet, sign up for that, do it now because, I think they’re gonna close out reservations pretty quickly here.

So [00:03:00] definitely, get up, get up here. This weekend for the Pond Skim and Easter at the lookout.

John Harrison: Yeah, of course. Great, great stuff. Really to close up, such a great season up at Greek Peak. Jon closing out another great edition of, Peak At the Peak, I wanna thank you so much for, for joining.

Any, any last things you wanna, you wanna mention for our, our folks listening at home.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, well, we will be on for one more edition, next week just to sort of wrap it up. But I, we’ll talk about the wedding showcase and some things, that are coming up, for the spring and summer and then, maybe we’ll, figure out a way to extend peak at the peak through,

You know, spring and summer. We’ll talk about that, I guess, offline.

John Harrison: Yeah. Well, I am, I’m always happy to hop on the phone with you, so, it’d be great if we could keep this, this, this peak at the peak going year round. But, for now, we’re, we’re gonna have to put a pin on things, and I’ll join you again next week for another edition of Peak At The Peak.

Jon Spaulding: Thanks, John.

John Harrison: Yeah, of course, Jon and for everyone listening at home, it’s been John Harrison on X101.
