Brian Wilson Adds 42 Shows To ‘Pet Sounds’ 50th Anniversary Tour; Includes A Stop Here In CNY

Music News

Brian Wilson has just tagged on a whopping 42 new shows to his ongoing Pet Sounds 50th anniversary tour. Wilson, who along with his longtime band and fellow Beach Boys Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin, have been on tour for over a year, will be expanding the run through October, with 24 new stops added overseas and 18 here next fall. Wilson, who turns 75 next month, said in the statement announcing the new shows: “We are blown away by the reception of this tour, it’s unbelievable how many people love this album. The audiences have been so fantastic and we are honored to play for them. We never expected this reaction so we will continue to perform this album for people as long as they ask us to!”

Wilson, Jardine, and Chaplin are currently on tour in the States, and next perform on Friday (May 12th) at Houston’s Revention Music Center. The summer European dates will hit Denmark, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, France, Austria, Ireland, England, and Scotland.

Brian Wilson, who has long suffered debilitating bouts of stage fright, admitted to us that he doesn’t just worry about singing, he also stresses about talking in between songs and often rehearses what he’ll say: “I’m looking forward to making a little bit more humorous jokes and being a little bit more funny, a little bit more funny than it is.”
