State Supreme Court Justice Molly Reynolds Fitzgerald will seek re-election to New York’s 6th Judicial District this fall.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to sit on the Supreme Court for the last 14 years,” said Fitzgerald. “I hope the voters will give me the opportunity to continue in this capacity.”
A Binghamton native, Justice Fitzgerald sits on the Appellate Division — the second-highest level court in New York State — where she was appointed in 2019 by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Before that, she served as an administrative judge for the District from 2016-2019. She was also a trial court judge from 2008 until 2019.
The sixth judicial district encompasses 10 counties, including Cortland and Tompkins; as well as Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware, Madison, Otsego, Schuyler and Tioga.
