On Tuesday (October 26), residents can join a public hearing on the tentative 2022 Cortland County budget.
A potential vote could then be taken on the $37,848,970 spending plan.
Per-thousand assessed values would rise from $15.65 to $15.85, representing a 1.28% property tax increase, well below this year’s state cap of 2%.

This plan is not yet finalized and legislators could still need flexibility to exceed the cap, should that become necessary. Allowing this will also come up for a vote on Tuesday.
