Tenney claims 12-vote lead in unofficial vote count
Local News December 1, 2020Last night, Claudia Tenney’s campaign once again claimed the slight upper-hand over Anthony Brindisi in a contested race for Congressional District 22.
All eight counties have submitted their final tallies, but the process is far from over.
Local election boards can’t certify their results until an ongoing court review of challenged ballots is complete.
Hundreds of votes — both counted and uncounted — face scrutiny.
Lawyers on both sides had until 5 pm yesterday to file additional objections.
The proceedings are being led in Oswego County State Supreme Court.
“Now that every county has submitted their final canvass tallies, we are in the lead but the process is far from over. Hundreds of contested ballots, both counted and uncounted, will be reviewed by the court. Our team is committed to seeing every legal vote counted and accounted for. After that process is final, we are confident Claudia Tenney will prevail and represent the people of New York’s 22nd District in the next Congress.” – Tenney spokesman Sean Kennedy
Brindisi has not yet issued an updated response.
