Temporary Asphalt on Main Street in Cortland to be Removed Beginning Today – Parking Restrictions in Place

Beginning today, Monday May 13th, construction crews will begin to remove the temporary asphalt that was laid this past fall on Main Street in the City of Cortland. Work will begin on Main Street at the intersection of Groton/Clinton Ave. and proceed towards Court Street. With this, parking will be restricted with no on street parking on both sides of the street.


The work is expected to take approximately one day to complete, weather permitting. Traffic will be allowed on Main Street with alternating lane closures in place.

Groton Ave. will be closed at Main Street for all traffic. For those looking to access local businesses on Groton Ave. A detour is in place asking patrons to utilize West Court Street to Haskell Place to park in the Groton Ave. lot. Orchard Street will also be closed to traffic.
