Two TC3 students honored for volunteering at Cayuga sampling center

Local News

Two nursing students at TC3 were honored Friday (March 27) for their volunteer work at Cayuga Health System’s COVID-19 Sampling Center over the College’s extended spring break.

Ithaca residents Dominick Barrett and Sara McKee were paid tribute at a small ceremony led by Cayuga Health President/CEO Martin Stallone.

The ceremony was also attended by Associate Professor Lisa Seyfried and Assistant Professor Kim Ligas from the nursing program, who presented the students with nursing pins and certificates.

Barrett and McKee are both in their final semester of the program and doing clinical hours at Cayuga Medical Center prior to the arrival of COVID-19 to the community, spending part of the College’s extended spring break helping out at the new sampling center.

That’s located in a vacant store space at The Shops at Ithaca Mall and open Monday – Friday from 10 am to 3 pm.

Preregistration is encouraged at cayugahealth.org or by calling 607-319-5708.
