TC3 Sees Largest Enrollment Increase in Over a Decade – Enrollment for Fall Semester Up 11% From Last Year
Tompkins Community College (TC3) says enrollment at the college is up 11% when compared to last year for the Fall semester. TC3 says it is the largest increase in enrollment in over a decade. The college credits new academic opportunities, changes in the enrollment process itself, and revised onboarding practices as contributors for the increased enrollment.
“There are many factors contributing to our historic increase, and the SUNY Reconnect program is certainly one of those positive factors,” said TC3 President Amy Kremenek. “We take great pride in being responsive to our students, and SUNY Reconnect is one of several programs we offer to ease the costs of attending college. This enrollment growth is evidence that more and more people are realizing the value of attending TC3, and taking advantage of the many opportunities available.”
TC3 also credits new sources of financial support including the SUNY Reconnect program to help increase growth. SUNY Reconnects offers a free associates degree for adult learners in high-demand fields. For the fall semester, TC3 saw 200 students take advantage of this program, with over half starting college for the first time.
