TC3 Adjunct Professor Honored With Chancellor’s Award

Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) says their adjunct professor, Steve Weed, has been honored with the 2024-2025 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjust Teaching. TC3 says Weed has been an adjunct professor in English since 2003.

The Chancellor’s Award recognizes expertise, commitment, and dedication of SUNY’s adjunct faculty who serve as exemplars for their peers, TC3 noted in a release. Presenting the award medallion to Mr. Weed was TC3 President Amy Kremenek. She also shared the numerous letters supporting Weed’s nomination for the award.

“He demonstrates outstanding commitment to his students,” Kremenek read, adding on her own that he “has raised awareness with the College leadership about issues that impact students. In everything he does, he has always kept students at the forefront of his concerns and actions.”

The awardee is chosen through a process which begins with a nomination for the award before going to a committee review before it is then forwarded to SUNY by the school’s president. A final determination on who will receive the award is made by the SUNY Chancellor, John B King Jr, after another review.
