On Wednesday, March 15th, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a 9-1-1 hang up in the Town of Taylor around 10:10pm.
After officers arrived and began to investigate the cause of the 9-1-1 hangup, it was then officers were able to determine 35 year old Nathan R. Jordan of Taylor, had gotten into a physical altercation between a female victim at the residence officers responded to.
During the altercation, the female victim tried to call for help by dialing 9-1-1, but Jordan physically disabled the phone making it inoperable. Officers charged Jordan with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a Misdemeanor.
He was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and was processed before being arraigned and later released on his own recognizance. Jordan is due to appear in Town of Taylor Court next month.
