Parker Elementary School closes its doors after this year and a task force has been hard at work finding a good fit for what could occupy the building afterwards.
After many months of work, the group says its nearly ready to bring their ideas to the Common Council.
The current plan is for the future occupants to be the YWCA, CAPCO, and Cortland Christian Academy, all of which are child care providers. The project would allow each of them to expand their services and programs into the building.
A community meeting will be held at the school on Wednesday, May 22 starting at 6:30 p.m, the main purpose of which will be to give an open presentation on those plans.
The task force says it hopes this meeting will “get everyone on the same page” and build “support and excitement” from the community in the coming weeks.
