Syracuse University Fires Coach Adrian Autry After 3 Seasons
According to ESPN Senior College Sports Insider Pete Thamel, Syracuse University has fired men’s basketball head coach Adrian Autry after three seasons leading the program.
Autry did not lead Syracuse to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his tenure. He finished with a 49–48 overall record as head coach.
According to Thamel, the university’s plan has been for current athletic director John Wildhack to make the coaching change before his retirement in July, with the incoming athletic director expected to oversee the search for the program’s next head coach.
Before becoming head coach in 2023, Autry served as an assistant coach at Syracuse beginning in 2011 and was promoted to associate head coach in 2016. He was elevated to head coach following the retirement of longtime coach Jim Boeheim.
