The accused are 41-year-old Alissa Johnson and 63-year-old Donald Beyor.

Officers with the Cortland Sheriff’s Department responded just past 12:30 Tuesday (March 17) afternoon on reports of a shoplifter, after an employee witnessed a female – later identified as Johnson – pushing the cart out of the store and leaving the area in a vehicle with a male accomplice (Beyor).

They were soon pulled over by the Homer Police Department, as they attempted to get on Interstate 81.

Johnson and Beyor were arrested, processed and released on appearance tickets to Cortlandville Town Court on April 6, pending any scheduling changes cause by the current health emergency.
