Syracuse Man Arrested For DWI – Troopers Find Him Peeing in a Bush at Visionworks

Just after 4 in the afternoon on Thursday, July 4th, a call came in reporting of a man leaving Footies Freeze on McLean Road and proceeding towards Route 281 who may be driving while intoxicated. State Police were dispatched to the area to conduct a welfare check.


Another call was reported to State Police who reported a vehicle was stopped and a man was urinating in a bush in front of Visionworks on Route 281. Troopers arrived and found 40 year old Richard E. Allison of Syracuse; Troopers also were able to detect an odor of alcohol on his breath.

State Police conducted a field sobriety test on Allison, who performed poorly. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a Misdemeanor. State Police say his reported Blood Alcohol Concentration was .17%. He was processed and later released on an appearance ticket. Allison is due in Cortlandville Town Court next month.
