Syracuse Man Arrested And Found With 11 Suspensions And Drugs; City Man Arrested For Assault

According from a press release from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, Monday morning (June 18th) Officers stopped a vehicle on Route 281 in the Town of Cortlandville.

The driver, 41 year old Iajah Hightower, Syracuse was using his cell phone while driving. Officers found him in possession of drugs. In addition, they found he has 11 suspensions on his license.

He was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court, bail is set to $500 and $1500 bond. He is due in court today. (June 20th)


Police make an arrest yesterday afternoon (June 19th) after a City of Cortland resident assaulted another man.

Police say Clayton Laswon, age 27, got into a fight with another 27 year old man at a residence on Park Street.

The victim received a fracture to the right cheek bone and was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.

Lawson was sent to jail on no bail to appear in city court today. (June 20th)
