State Police say two Syracuse women arrested in Cortland County last week are the same two who got away with more than $1700 in merchandise from a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ithaca earlier this month.
Officials say on April 4, 26-year-old Jasmine Felton-Brown and her 17-year-old accomplice filled duffel bags they also stole in the store located on Catherwood Road.
They escaped in a grey jeep, but this past Wednesday (April 24) the Trooper investigating the case heard a ‘Be On The Lookout’ radio transmission report about the same jeep on the run from another larceny in Cortland County traveling down Route 13 South.
A Dryden Officer who also heard the transmission pull the car over and made the arrests.
Both were taken into custody by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department to face charges for their crime in Cortland County, then later turned over to State Police.
Felton-Brown was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 property bond.
The 17-year-old was released on their own recognizance and turned over to a third party.
