On this morning’s Meet Cortland County segment:
Cortland County Soil & Water Conservation District Manager Amanda Barber spoke with Vinnie Bellardini about the importance of conserving natural resources during National Stewardship Week (Apr. 26 – May 3).
Stewardship Week is one of the largest national conservation programs and has been celebrated annually across the U.S. since 1955. It’s held each year between the last Sunday in April and the first Sunday in May.
Barber reflected on the importance of our own individual responsibilities caring for the environment, with the ultimate goal of keeping Earth’s resources abundant for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
She also expressed how the outdoors can be a great opportunity to have some social distancing-friendly fun, while possibly allowing a stronger connection to be built with the little things we take advantage of during our busy lives.
