Suspicious Vehicle Complaint Leads to Arrest of Driver For DWI

Around 3:40 in the morning on Sunday, April 28th, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Mill Street in the Town of Willet for a suspicious vehicle complaint.


An investigation found the driver of the reported suspicious vehicle, 27 year old Everett C. Thompson of Norwich, was driving drunk. Officers also learned the vehicle was unregistered. Thompson was arrested and charged with DWI, a Misdemeanor, Operating/Driving Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage/Possession of Open Container, all Traffic Violations.

He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and later arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process. Thompson is due in Willet Town Court later this evening.
