Suspect in Stolen Vehicle Leads IPD on Chase; Crashed Car in Field

On Monday, February 13th around 12:20 in the morning, a vehicle was spotted by Ithaca Police that was known to be stolen being driven near Hook Place in the City of Ithaca.


Ithaca Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, though, fled from the initial stop conducted by officers and sped away.

Officers followed the stolen vehicle as the operator committed multiple vehicle and traffic violations as they fled from officers. Eventually, the suspect came to a stop in a field off the road of Haller Boulevard and fled on foot.

IPD was able to catch up to the suspect fleeing and apprehend them. The suspect, identified as 33 year old Brittany T. Walls of Ithaca, was charged with Criminal Possession of stolen property in the 4th, a Felony, Unlawful fleeing a Police Officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd, both Misdemeanors.

Walls was also charged with multiple vehicle and traffic violations including Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. She was processed and released with appearance tickets due to return to court at a later date.
