Survivor Sues Mike Huckabee Campaign

Music News

One of the members of Survivor has hit the Mike Huckabee presidential campaign with a lawsuit for playing their hit, “Eye of the Tiger,” during a rally without permission. The song was played in Kentucky during a rally for county clerk Kim Davis who refused to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. As the former governor escorted Davis out of jail, the song from Rocky III, played in the background.

According to Survivor member Frank M. Sullivan III, he is the co-author of the song and his company Rude Music Inc. holds the copyright.

The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and for a judge to order the campaign to stop using the song immediately.

When TMZ.com caught up with Huckabee he denied any wrongdoing and plainly stated that he had nothing to do with selecting the music at the rally.
